ADDITIONAL NEW P-R PARKS AND RECREATION DISTRICT

You probably think the new proposed Parks and Recreation District sounds like a good thing and that it will preserve all the natural environment such as lakes, rivers, mountains, and woodlands. However, this new district would allow retail stores, restaurants, bars, and hotels with buildings up to 50 feet tall with only 25 ft setbacks from the property line.

A special permit can also be requested that allows resorts, hotels, and conference centers.  We all know the County Commission loves to approve Special Permits.

This new district removes the ability for everyone to enjoy all our natural resources and will put private owned commercial endeavors in rural areas.

On the new Area Plan Place Type Maps these hotel and resort clusters can be identified by the Resort and Recreation (RR) Place Type. And many are located on two lane roads.

Please ask the Commissioners to vote NO on the Parks and Recreation Resolution.
